airfare for September trip
We are seeing some phenomenal air fares for travel to London right now. $249 from Detroit!!!
We are thinking of doing the following trip in September.
Fly into London for 2 days, take a Ryanair trip to Germany [sites to be determned], then travel to visit Austria and Switzerland before heading back to London for two days and home.
Time in between London stops is pretty flexible.
Question is this...what do any of you see as a typical 'September' air fare? Will I see anything as low as I am seeing for right now? That would be awesome!
Thank you all, in advance for any thoughts on the air fare or the trip!

Ike,
We are seeing airfare in September, RT to London (LGW) at about $700 from Mpls. I assume that should be consistant for your area, maybe a little lower. This is of course for direct flights. If you hunt around you may get down to $600, but that would be layovers and other restrictions. It all depends on what you are willing to do to save some money. As you get closer to your travel date you will probably start seeing some deals, but that's the chance you take. I would be surprised to see prices go below $500 for that time of year. Happy hunting.

As low as you're seeing right now for now or for September?
If you mean January, February, March fares, NO, you will not see fares that low for flights in September.

GregPCM is right about layovers, if you're willing and able; last week I bought a late-September RT BOS-LHR for 228+. Don't know about a cheap hop to BOS but there's been many deals floating around. Although any minute now BOS-LHR fares will start inching up, the past couple years they shot back down to January lows immediately after Labor Day. In any event I would suggest that you haunt all the travel sites constantly right now. Happy hunting indeed.

Hi lk,
Air fares are lower after Labor day.
Have you looke for open-jaw flights into London and out of Switzerland?
See www.kayak.com and www.1800flyeurope.com
