IAD (Dulles) - travel between terminals?

My teenage niece will be taking her first "solo" flight next week and will be changing planes in Dulles. Looks like she'll need to get from A to C terminal. How is travel between terminals done - I checked online and couldn't tell if there are underground moving walkways, a monorail, or if they are still using those old moving "lounges". She's a little nervous about travelling by herself and making the transition between planes so I'm hoping to be able to tell her what to look for. Thanks for any info!

They still use the mobile lounges for A to C/D. It's easy to find them., just be sure to get on the correct one.

Yes, they are still using those mobile lounges. The AeroTrain is supposed to operational some time this year. That will be a pleasant change.

The airport is well marked. As soon as she gets off her plane your niece should check the departures monitors to check on her connection. Some times they change gates and terminals. Once she knows which terminal she needs to get to, she just has to follow the signs which will take her to the mobile lounges.

As mentioned she just needs to be careful that she gets on the mobil lounge that goes to terminal A. All the lounges are lined up and the one to Terminal A is on the right at the very end and it is marked. Worst case sceanrio she ends up in the wrong terminal and hops on a mobile lounge to A.

As the others said - it really is well marked, and she can ask the gate agent if she's confused. Dulles is my home airport, and I have not paid attention and gone to the wrong terminal (ok - I'm old, it happens - and it's easy to correct the mistake. The moving lounges do a pretty good job....
