American Airlines Availability of Seats

Hello:

The last time I made reservations with American Airlines it was easy to click on seats available on any particular flight that you were considering.

I am looking for flights today and I am confused. Is it possible to still view the seats available prior to purchase? If so would someone kindly walk me thru the steps.

I am getting a lot less choices in flights and the cost is quite a bit more.

Thank you.

Sandy

Seats are displayed on the screen after you enter your name (and before you purchase).

So as long as I log in and enter my name I can still see seats prior to purchase?

Thank you for your help.

I don't think you even have to log on or put in your name.

On the AA.com home page click on "Plan Travel" and select "View Available Seats. Enter the flight number, Departure date, departing and arrival airports and class of service. You'll be directed to a screen showing available seats. for that flight

Thanks - it doesn't seem like an improvement to me. Some flights it will display others it will not. I get a message if you have any questions contact American Airlines.

Be sure your flight is operated by AA and not a codeshare operated by British Airways.
