Yosemite in September for older couple - where to stay?

We did an overnight in Yosemite last October. We stayed at the Lodge at the Falls, but went to the Ahwahnee (Majestic)for breakfast. We should have walked as the shuttle was very slow. I thought they served until 11 and we walked in at 10:10. They quit serving at 10 
. The host checked and sat us anyway, in the alcove where Queen Elizabeth dined. The room is so beautiful.

Hi Everyone-Thanks for all the great suggestions. Due to my asthma we had to cancel our trip. Luckily we received a full refund from the airline (non-refundable ticket) with medical documentation.
