Yosemite in early spring, amazing!!!

Thanks for posting have seen this when I went in

late april/early May.

Stayed at the Shiloh Inn in Oakhurst then $59/nt good value.

beautiful if a bit chilly...

Peak falls ice flows do start up in April

a good time to see some amazing flows

as long as you dress warm...

We've had frazil ice videos posted a few times (including, I think, this same video)

Yes it is amazing, and another reason to visit the Valley in early Spring. But don't count on seeing it - I was there in March last year and it was too warm for the phenomenon.

Thanks for posting the video. I had seen it before but forgot where.

It is hit or miss for frazil ice. I was there last April and it was way too warm for it.

Spring is lovely - but I went to Yosemite last week and think it's even more stunning in January.

We will be there in Mid May....will we see any remnants of this? will we still have to wear warm clothing?

Average daytime temperatures are in the low 70s, nighttime low 40s. So I would not expect to see the frazil ice unless something very strange happened.

We go in Mid April. Usually it's warm enough for shorts in the daytime. So much melting snow that water is pouring out of every where and parking lots start to flood. I have never seen the frazil ice though.
