Yankee Stadium & Restaurant & Ekscrunchy

Ekscrunchy: I'm going to a Yankee game next week. At your suggestion, I'm going to try The Feeding Tree on Grand Concourse before the game. Are there any particular dishes you can recommend. Thanks.

I am glad you are going to give it a try. But it is not on the Concourse..rather on Gerard Avenue, on the opposite side from the Courthouse. Two of us tried two different chicken dishes last time. I think they call it jerk chicken but it is not really jerk, ie not really spicy. But VERY tasty. I am sorry I can't remember the exact name. They are laid back and friendly in that place and also have good fruit drinks. I think they sell beer/wine but not totally sure about that. PLEASE let us know what you think. I have not been up there yet this season but when I do go I will return to Feeding Tree. (I am NOT a fan of Court Deli)

Ecrunchy was right on about this restaurant. It is a good place to eat at before Yankee games. A friend and I went last night. Had beef bone soup, jerk shrimp, oxtail and carrot juice. The food is good, the portions are big and the people are pleasant. It's a short walk from the stadium (It's a minute from McDonalds. Just get to the McDonald's and make a left on Gerard and it's on the right side of the street). We had a filling bowl of soup that cost less than the $5.50 you pay in the Stadium for a bag of cracker jacks, and the whole meal cost less than what we would have paid to eat crap at the stadium.

Escrunchy, there must be other restaurants like this around,so if you find out about more, please post the info.

Evening wasn't perfect. Mariano gave up 2 runs. But how much can you complain when the game ends with bases loaded & winning run on.

Well, I think it's fair to complain when that winning run isn't brought home. Grrr.

I am so glad you liked the Feeding Tree. Sometimes I am hesitant to recomend it but you seem like a pretty cool person from your posts! I am always on the lookout for new good places to eat around there, rather than have to deal with Arthur Avenue befpre a game, so I will report and and all finds a bit later in the season. Thanks for letting me know!
