The Red Cabbage - What kind of food?
I keep hearing about The Red Cabbage. I'm to PV early May and have decided that I must go. What dishes are recommended? I love everything from spicy to mild, from fish to chicken to beef.

Let's see, I had an excellent chicken mole, fairly spicy and rich. If you can't make up your mind, try the mixed mexican plate. And don't miss the spinach "salad" (cooked, chopped).
Any soup I have tried was excellent. For the less adventuresome they offer fresh grilled fish or spiny shrimps with vegetables and rice. I don't remember beef on the menu.
They offer several specialty stuffed chili pepper dishes.

It's rather international but with a strong Mexican favor. Excellent fish, Mole, salads, soups & when they are good wonderful shrimp/lobster. Lola buys all her sea food fresh & if it is not the best she passes on it that day. So it does vary from day to day.

If you liked the Red Cabbage, you'll love El Arrayan, voted best Mexican food for 5 years by Vallarta Lifestyles magazine.

"Since when"? well basically every day on Fodor's.
People make alternative suggestions *all the time* when someone asks about a particular restaurant or hotel in a particular location. You know I love Red Cabbage, but I wouldn't call it "unsolicited shilling" because someone mentions another similar possibility.

Sure, why not? (should all have been listed)
People do it ALL the time. I say "go to Cafe de Olla". They say that place is no good go next door to Fajita Republic instead. They say "go to La Palapa", I say "that place is way too expensive, go anywhere else" etc. etc. etc.

Red Cabbage is great, BUT yes another recommendation is always appropriate because nobody spends their entire vacation at one restaurant. I have to agree with Suze (about the exquisite La Palapa) and I always Just LOVE Pipi's for the atmosphere with the families and the huge crowds from the ships. But its just one personal opinion. IT's called SHARING OUR info. Cheers

I recently asked about a specific hotel on a Trip Advisor forum. Very specific. Exactly and only about *1* hotel. And guess what, I got all kinds of alternative suggestions and information. But I also got the answer to the question I first asked.
This is kind of a silly argument imho in this particular thread, since the person asked the original question over 2-1/2 YEARS AGO!
