Would you stay at Caesars Palace or MGM Grand?

We are staying in Las Vegas for 2 nights during the Christmas. This is our 2nd time to LV and we stayed at Venetian last time.

For the budget I am working with, I originally booked MGM Grand. Now I've found a comparable deal for Caesars Palace. My sense is that Caesars has a more grand architecture and more centred on the strip, a higher 4-star than MGM Grand. But, I am not sure!

Which one do you think it a better hotel to stay at?

We have stayed in both. I'm not sure why you think that the four stars at Caesar's are better than the four stars at MGM....but Caesars is more centrally-located (which we liked) and I thought there was more to see and do in and near the hotel than at the MGM.

If those things matter then i would stay at Caesar's

I would choose Caesar's Palace. The location is very centrally located on the Strip.

I would stay at the MGM Grand! I've always stayed there, and I can't see myself staying any other place! Not only is the hotel it's self very up beat, but the over all personal service is A+. The night life great and there are more then a few places to eat!

Hands down the MGM.

For me location is pretty important and Caesar's is more centrally located.

Been to both - if the price is the same - definitely Caesars - for all the reasons mentioned....

If you're looking to do some shopping, definitely Caesar's. It's also closer to some other major hotels in the middle of the strip.

No contest! I've stayed at both, and am hard pressed to come up with any reason to choose MGM over Caesars: location, restaurants, shopping.... Last time at Caesars, a friend and I got a free upgrade to the suite used in filming Rainman. Can't imagine something like that ever happening at MGM.

If you decide to stay at the MGM then make sure you book a room next to the exit of the hotel. MGM grand is so huge it took me about 15+ min to get to my room from the strip and vice versa.

It seems like the MGM Grand is offering much better deals so if its a matter of price I would go for MGM, other wise I would go with the Palace just because of the more central location.

Check out this website for discount options

Yes, I was aware of MGM's promo code and that's what we originally booked. There is also various special going on with Caesars, and we have booked our nights for $120 a night. MGM average to about $100 a night, for the $20 different, we are going for Caesars.

I would definitely do Caesars. The rooms are much, much nicer and you have more options for shopping and restaurants. Check out TravelTeeth.com. They tend to have pretty good Vegas hotel deals published.

Mandalay Bay is probably a nicer hotel than the MGM or Caesar's, but it's a hike from there to anything else you'll want to do. I'd stick with Caesar's, if only for the convenience of location.
