I will be in San Antonio during Thanksgiving staying at the Riverwalk. Was wondering if anyone can recommend a place for Thanksgiving brunch, preferably on or near the Riverwalk. Thanks in advance.

Boudro's is our favorite restaurant on the River Walk; I'd check with them and see if they are doing something. I know it's not very Thanksgivingish, but their tableside guacamole is great with prickly pear margaritas. Their menu is sort of Texas Bistro; check it out at boudros.com.

Also I think there's some sort of River parade around Thanksgiving - maybe Friday? Should be able to find details on their site if that interests you.

Thanks volcanogirl - I just called them and they will be serving their dinner menu all day plus a few special thanksgiving day items. The parade is on Friday and they are also offering a special dinner menu. I just have to check with my party to see what they want to do.

I've heard Biga on the Banks does something - might be another one to consider, but I don't know if it's traditional. I completely understand that people will be wanting their turkey - perhaps check with some of the bigger hotels.

In case anyone is interested, there are several restaurants on the RiverWalk that serve Thanksgiving Day lunch/dinner. We wound up having a non-turkey lunch at Boudro's which was very good. The black and white soup was excellent and then had a traditional thanksgiving dinner at "The Original Mexican Restaurant and Bar" (turkey, stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, cranberry, rolls and dessert) for a very reasonable $12.95 per person.

Yes, we did have a great time. The holiday parade held Friday night was pretty nice too. Most restaurants along the river were selling tables or seats with or without food to view the parade. We found one place that was basically first come/first serve with the tables outside and the only requirement was a 3-drink minimum or dinner.
