Jaisalmer Hotels - Recommendations?

We are having a difficult time sorting out the hotels in Jaisalmer. Does anyone have a mid-ranged priced hotel recommendation?

Among our considerations are the Nachana Haveli, Hotel Killa Bhawan, Jawahar Niwas Palace, Welcom Heritage Mandir Palace & Rang Mahal. Opinions on these or others are welcome.

Nix to the Jawahar Niwas Palace - bad reviews and to the WelcomeHeritage Mandir Palace - bed bugs. Yikes!

Is anyone familiar with the Pleasant Hotel, Gateway or the Rang Mahal?

Bob - what are you talking about...am I missing something? I understand you are staying at Nachana Haveli and we considered staying there, but the reviews are so mixed.

dgunbug if you take a look at my trip report for India. We stayed at the Hotel Rawakot in Jaisalmer which I believe is the Gateway. We liked it. Quiet, good food & a view of the fort. Unless the prices have changed drastically we certainly did not pay a fortune for this at all.

We stayed at Shahi Palace which we liked a lot. It is located just outside the gates and easy walks to other parts of town.
