Wisconsin getaway

Before our child is born in May, my wife and I are looking for a long weekend getaway in Wisconsin. We plan on going the first week of April. We're looking for a place where we can relax and possibly do a little hiking. We'd prefer to rent a cabin and would really like to have a hot tub. The farthest north we want to travel is the Dells. Any suggestions?

I don't have any Wisconsin help for you, but I did want to mention that your wife's doctor will say no hot tubs. The problem is they can be too hot. Perhaps a whirlpool bath in your room would be better because then you can control the temperature. I went in my own hot tub at home while pregnant because I could lower the temp to 100 or so.

The weather can be chilly in April but the Kohler resort is really nice, there is also the Inn at Woodlake, which is less expensive. There is a fun restaurant, River Wildlife, in a log cabin in the woods.

Check out this resort on 200 acers in western Wisconsin (near La Crosse) www.percheronparadise.com they are for couples only and have 135 gallon whirlpools in the cabins.Full cooking, remote fire places, hugh decks and each building is seperated from the next so it's very very private.
I think you would like it.
