Williamsburg, VA in March?

What might we expect in Williamsburg in early to mid March, in terms of weather and the conditions of touring the restored area?

Also, can anyone recommend a good, FUN hotel there with an indoor pool - that won't break the bank?

TIA!

Been there in Feb. & March several years back and has some rain each time, although no really cold weather.
You can check a web site called weather underground for weather history. It gives it by month in averages Otherwise you just take your chances-with umbrella or rain poncho.
Good luck--

I think your a little lost.

You might want to try Virginia as your subject search, your in the California subject search area.

However, Historic Williamsburg is open all year. Weather in March is iffy, but it shouldn't be too cold. Go to Ask Jeeves.com and ask about Williamsburg, VA accomodations. You'll see a ton of them to choose from with all the particulars, i.e. pools, rates, etc.

Have fun.

I can't help with the weather question but I think the Williamsburg Lodge has an indoor pool. When we went a caouple of years ago i went to the Williamsburg web site and was able to take a look at all of the hotel/motel offerings. As it was a summer trip I didn't focus on indoor pools but I remember there were a few.

I'm not sure what Carrin was referring to-- this thread is appropriately on the U. S. forum. There are no specific state forums.

Enjoy your trip.

Ellen,

Marriott Courtyard and Springfield Suites have indoor pools. I'm sure other places do too. Not sure what you mean by FUN hotel...can you offer insight?

Wmburg will be staring spring in early to mid March. Temps can be anywhere from the 50s to the 70s. The restored area of Wmburg is open year round. The gardens should just be coming to life around that time.

Thank you all for your replies!

Regarding a 'fun' hotel....i wondered about hotels with indoor water partks etc... they seem to be springing up in every major tourist area. OR, perhaps a hotel with a theme, such as the restored colonial theme....as in The Williamsburg Inn and Lodge....without the hefty rate.

But checking their web site, i was pleased to see very reasonable rates that time of year.....but NO vacancies!!!

Any other ideas most welcome! Thanks again!

There aren't any hotels that I know of with water parks. All of the hotels seem fairly standard. All chains are represented. There is a new Hampton Inn on Richmond Rd with an indoor pool. The weather can be anything from warm to snow. The bulbs will all be up so it will be pretty.
