Williamsburg Restaurant suggestions

We are taking our 7 and 9 year old sons to Williamsburg for 5 days, staying at the Williamsburg Inn this winter. Can anyone suggest some restaurants (any cuisine type, all price from $ to $$$$)? I understand that we should go to one of the Taverns. Thank you!

Pierce's Pit Cooked Barbecue, a local and truckers hangout. Definitely a "$" at most.

Cities Grille on Rt. 5 has a great children's menu, a noise level that's just right for kids and offers a very nice meal for the parent's. A $$-$$$. You'll be limited during the winter by which tavern is open. Call early for reservations. More casual choices would be Sal's by Victor Italian, Casa Maya Mexican, Soya for Japanese, Courtyard Cafe and Polo Club for burgers etc. Have fun!

Another thumbs up for Pierces and "Sals by Victor" (in Wbg Shopping Center, not to be confused with "other" "Sals"). I like Nawab (across Monticello from Sals by Vic) for Indian, and also like La Casita on Richmond Rd across from Applebees. Whaling Company. Good sandwiches at Cheese Shoppe in Merchants Square. We liked Jefferson Steak house, but thought it a big pricy for the quality. For casual pub-grub, we liked Second Avenue (Pub?) on (yes) 2nd Ave.

Paul's Deli on Richmond Rd was always a favorite for sandwiches. It turns into the W&M bar at night, but is great for lunch or an early dinner.

If you want $$$, you could try the Trellis. I only ever got dessert there (Death by Chocolate - amazing!); the food gets mixed reviews.
