Wisconsin Dells restaurant

I'm going to meet my sister for her birthday in Wisconsin Dells where we plan to make a weekend of it with our kids. We are going to stay at the Polynesian Resort. This is a first visit for us both. Does anyone have a restaurant recommendation for the night of her birthday? It has to be somewhat kid friendly since her son is only 4 years old, but I thought maybe a step up from the Pizza Grill at the hotel. Any other suggestions for activities or advice is very welcome! Thanks!

Lynny,

I can offer a few suggestions (all kid-friendly):

Mexican: Mexicali Rose

Brew Pub (yet very kid friendly): Moosejaw Pizza and Brewing Company

Pizza: Pizza Pub or Rocky Rococco's (Yum!)

Chains: Houlihans, Famous Daves (BBQ), many more

Have fun!

BTW, Pizza Pub is enormous and has something like a 40-foot salad bar as well as a full menu.

Be sure to check the brochure rack in the lobby at the Polynesian; there'll be coupons for just about anywhere you decide to go.

Wally's House of Embers (with the big neon martini glass) is the best meal in the Dells and very kid-friendly (without being a "kiddie restaurant")

The Dells is full of family oriented restaurants. You could always do black Barts buffet which is just about across the street from the Polynesian. If you like buffets, HoChunk has a pretty good one as well.

If you want upscale go for the Delbar or a newish restaurant (name escapes me) at the Wilderness Resort. Both are right on 12.

At the Wilderness:

That would be Fields. Rather upscale.

Thanks so much for your replies! Is Wally's near the Polynesian? I appreciate getting so many choices so quickly, thanks!

It looks to be within 2 miles of the Polynesian. The Dells is not really that large, nothing is too far away.
