Wild Animal Park - SD

How do your rate this place? Is it a must see? I have a two year old.

Have you been to the San Diego Zoo? I would choose that over the wild animal park any time. I doubt it would be big on a two year olds list.

Legoland would be a good choice for a 2 year old.

I would also choose the Zoo as a must see. Legoland would also be good for a 2 year old. But the Zoo is a must see.

I have a 2 yr old and we rarely go to the Wild Animal park. The tram ride is great, you get a chance to see lots of animals in their 'natural' environment. However, my son will not sit for the 50min ride. I bring him snacks, and it is still a struggle. The lorikeets are neat, they eat a cup of nectar from your hand, so can see them very close up. The butterfly house is wonderful too. The zoo, however is much better.

As for Legoland, be warned if your child is under 34' s/he can only go on 3 rides. If under 36', then only 7 rides. There is a wonderful playground & interactive fountains. There is also a room with Legos for them to play with. But, IMHO, I wouldn't want to pay $45 so my child can go on slides and play with Legos.

SeaWorld, on the other hand has always been a great time for us. My son loves the dolphin show & Shamu show. We like the aquarium, sharks, penguins, dolphins & starfish tank.

Have a wonderful time in San Diego!

My wife and I visited San Diego this summer and enjoyed the Wild Animal Park more than the zoo, but since the exhibits are more reflective of natural habitats, it is difficult to see some of the animals up close and there is a lot of walking in between the various exhibits.

I think a 2 year-old's interest will be kept better at the zoo with the animals up close and closer together. Both parks were magnificent.

Just my opinion.

Have Fun!

i enjoy the wild animal park but as said, for a two year old go to the zoo (rent a stroller) or sea world is GREAT.

I enjoy the Wild Animal Park. Lots of shows. More natural environment for animals than the zoo. At some point, I would say it is a must see, but not sure with a two year old.

Thank you. Maybe we should hold off on that until she is older.
