Whitehall Hotel in Chicago

We have reservations at the Whitehall Hotel on east Delaware in Chicago in late April. Can anybody tell us anything about the hotel?
Also any good (rock, blues) shows in town for the 3rd weekend in April? Not the big stadium shows, but the small club shows.
Thanks

Andy, the Whitehall is one of Chicago's smaller "European-style" hotels, which in this case is a good thing. I last stayed there about three years ago, shortly after they re-opened following a top-to-bottom renovation. The rooms are of reasonable size, the baths are luxurious, and the amenities plentiful. The service is very good and the concierge was quote helpful.

As to what's going on in town, you should try http://www.chireader.com/, that's the weekly paper that caters to the crowd that is interested in club-type shows.

I stayed there about three weeks ago and I agree with everything Neal wrote. The hotel is elegantly decorated, and best of all, the staff were extremely courteous and friendly. The rooms are very nice- also well decorated and big. And, the location was great. You're only about 1/2 block off of Michigan.

Andy, go to www.metromix.com click on music and you can do a search by date for music on that weekend. In the Chicago Tribune this morning, there's listings for Semisonic at the Vic on 4/20, Guster at the Riveria on 4/20, Jonatha Brooke at Park West on 4/19
