Whitehall Hotel in Chicago
 

We have reservations at the Whitehall Hotel on east Delaware in Chicago in late April. Can anybody tell us anything about the hotel?<BR>Also any good (rock, blues) shows in town for the 3rd weekend in April? Not the big stadium shows, but the small club shows.<BR>Thanks

Andy, the Whitehall is one of Chicago's smaller "European-style" hotels, which in this case is a good thing. I last stayed there about three years ago, shortly after they re-opened following a top-to-bottom renovation. The rooms are of reasonable size, the baths are luxurious, and the amenities plentiful. The service is very good and the concierge was quote helpful.<BR><BR>As to what's going on in town, you should try http://www.chireader.com/, that's the weekly paper that caters to the crowd that is interested in club-type shows.

I stayed there about three weeks ago and I agree with everything Neal wrote. The hotel is elegantly decorated, and best of all, the staff were extremely courteous and friendly. The rooms are very nice- also well decorated and big. And, the location was great. You're only about 1/2 block off of Michigan.
