White Sands/Blue Water in Oahu...
Hi All,
What beaches on Oahu have those white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue water that I've imagined all my life? I've heard that Lanakai (sp?) does but what are some other beaches?
Thanks!

I don't know about white sandy beaches, but the best beaches on Oahu are (counterclockwise starting at Ala Moana):
Ala Moana Beach
Waikiki Beach (the entire length from Hilton Hawaiian Village to the Gold Coast near Diamond Head)
Hanauma Bay
Sandy Beach
Makapuu Beach
Waimanalo Bay Recreation Area
Kailua Beach
Lanikai Beach
Kualoa Regional Park (Chinaman's Hat)
Malaekahana State Recreation Area
Turtle Bay Resort (Beaches are open to the public)
Sunset Beach
Ehukai Beach (Banzai Pipeline) Not really much of a beach, but great to watch the surf.
Pupukea Beach Park (Shark's Cove)
Waimea Beach Park
Laniakea Beach - Not really much of a beach, but this is the one also called Turtle Beach where you can see the turtles.
Haleiwa Beach Park
There are also many beaches on the Leeward side, but, I don't know much about them.

I agree with beachgirl86. If you want to see blue water, go anywhere in Hawaii. Having been from the East Coast, I was totally amazed that the Pacific Ocean is blue while the Atlantic Ocean is a gross green/gray. The waters are warm and the sand at Lanikai and Kailua beaches is soft and not as rocky as Waikiki.
