White Mountains, NH Lodging

Hi there,

We're looking at places to stay in the White Mts, New Hampshire for 4 nights this coming October 8-12th before we head to Vermont.

Any suggestions on a good budget b&b or hotel that is clean, comfy and fun without too much of a strain on our wallet?! Has
anyone heard of the Three Rivers House B&B? They look unremarkable, but reasonable and I cannot find ANY info online about them other than their own website...

thanks!
~Melinda

A couple of years ago we stayed at the Wilderness Inn in North Woodstock and enjoyed it. It is very convenient to the Franconia Notch area and is at the terminus of the Kancanagus Highway. I felt its rates were reasonable and the breakfasts were great. I would recommend it.

thanks for the info - we actually have a call into the Wilderness Inn - they only have 1 room left for the time we will be there and it's very small and my husband is 6'2"!! So calling to see if he'd "fit"!!

we are staying at the riverbend inn at chocorua in September. It looks very nice on the internet and they take the bed and breakfast gift certificates from bedandbreakfast.com that costco is selling for 79.99 -- that's 100.00 value. So a 200 room is really 160. Their web site is www.riverbendinn.com They have great reviews on trip adviser. I just checked and they have 3 rooms left from 155-199 per night. There are less expensive rooms but they share a bath -- not sure but it sounds like a connecting bath between two rooms but I could be wrong about that -- never asked because we want private baths.

Thanks for the replies. I'm SO excited. We too found the costco gift certificates - so we're going to use those which will help keep the price down without compromising. We booked reservations at the Inn at Ellis River in Jackson (Tovarich - good to know it's a great location) and then we've booked a place called the Park Light Inn in Chester, VT for the 2nd stage of our trip. Both places were SO nice when I called them and both accept the gift certificates. Thanks so much for everyone's comments - I'll make sure to post how everything went after our trip.
