Where's a perfect, fabulous couples' long weekend spring getaway in the US?

I'm trying to figure out where to go for a fabulous long weekend in the spring; leaving the kids behind. If possible, I'd like to fly on Southwest Airlines, so would prefer a location near a Southwest city. Want to go somewhere we haven't been. Does anyone have a suggestion?

We've been to Enchantment Resort and Tii Amo in Arizona and Blackberry Farm in Tennessee. We've been to most of the big cities I want to go to and had dinner at good restaurants like French Laundry and Charlie Trotter. Did Wine Country.

We've never been to a spa like Canyon Ranch and I'm considering it, but not sure husband would really like it.

I thought Paris, but want to go for longer than we'll have ..... so would like to stay in the U.S.

Suggestions?

I'd suggest Santa Fe, NM or Sedona, AZ. I think Southwest serves both Albuquerque and Phoenix. Very scenic areas, good spring weather (more late spring for Santa Fe), easy drives from airport cities, good restaurants, things to do and places to just kick back and relax.

Santa Fe - it will probably be windy, but you'd have nice weather otherwise. Southwest flies into Albuquerque.

You could fly to Raleigh on Southwest and stay at Fearrington Village.

It would help to know where you're starting from. Have you checked Southwest's vacation packages for ideas? For non-stops from your home city? Lots of Fla. options.

We love Canyon Ranch in Tucson..its cheaper in the summer..
also, we love Rancho la Puerta in Tecate, Mexico..fly into San Diego..Golden Door in Escondido is a great spa too.
We enjoy Sedona and Enchantment resort too..
San Franciso and Napa are a blast and it is fun to have lunch at FL and Redd and do the wineries BUT are new favorite is the Tu Tu Tun Lodge in Oregon..
This is one of the best places in the world..well besides Paris, Moorea and Sedona!

Fly into Reno,NV rent a car and drive to Lake Tahoe.
Fly into SanJose, CA rent a car and drive to Carmel-By-The-Sea.
Very romantic places with beautiful scenery. I'm from CA, and living in the southwest now. Theres nowhere down here that compares with those places---except Sedona. (fly into Phoenix and rent a car!) I vote Carmel, CA as most romantic because of the ocean and darling little town full of shops and restaurants.
