Where to stay in Park City
Planning a last minute ski trip to Park City in late January for two adults (beginner & intermediate skill levels). Flexible regarding price, although no desire to be extravagant. Would like to be close to town (within walking distance if possible). Internet sites with lodging info are overwhelming...please help!

I went to Park City in the fall and stayed at The Washington School Inn, one street over from the main street. I went to tripadvisor and saw that it was #1 in Park City.
Cozy rooms in a former school with fantastic innkeepers. They will greet you by name at breakfast and were very helpful when I had questions about town and restaurants.
The breakfasts were to die for. Cookies are put out for your indulgence in the afternoon. There are pictures of the rooms on the website (www.washingtonschoolinn.com)and you can check availability online. The rooms look like they are in your Great Aunt's Victorian home, lots of furniture and pillows and fluffy duvets. Gilchrist & Soames soaps and shampoos in the bathrooms which are small.

This may not be the perfect location (not walking distance to main st), but a backup plan, Park City Radisson. It's about a mile from the mountain. The shuttle stops at the door. It's fairly generic in look and feel, but it does have an excellent breakfast buffet (w/ eggs to order). It wheels a cookie/hot choc. cart around in the evenings and has hot cider in the lobby. There's also an indoor/outdoor pool and hottubs (1 indoor and 1 outdoor). There is also a marriott on main st. and I think some smaller establishments as well as condos.
Check tripadvisor.com for more possibilities.

Family members stayed at the Park City Radisson over Christmas and they were happy with it. Due to the shuttles they did not have to rent a car. They loved the inside/outside pool and spa. They ate at a restaurant called The Mustang and said they had a fantastic meal. The salmon dinner was evidently one of the best they have ever had and they live by the coast near Santa Barbara. Have fun!!

Hi Market,
Important to note: the Sundance Film Festival starts Jan 19 and goes for 10 days.
Bad news: town insanely crowded, traffic, parking problems, can't get in the restaurants. Lodging booked up and very expensive.
Good news: Most of the people taking up the lodging are seeing films all day and night. Majority are not skiers - the slopes are wide open!
The Sundance Film Festival is a very fun event, especially if you like independent films! People watching is also pretty fun, if you like to see famous faces. You can stop by the box office early in the morning in the Gateway Office bldg. to see if there are any "same day" film tickets available. Advance tickets are always all sold out.
Another "reasonable" hotel is The Yarrow. Closer to Main Street than the Raddison. Nice, big outdoor pool and hot tub, can't say much for their food.
The Cottonwood Canyon resorts, Snowbird and Alta, Brighton and Solitude, have over 140% of normal snowpack for this time of year. Park City has a little less. The skiing is great!
Good luck!

The place looks wonderful, though!
