Looking for best places to stay in Key West.The Cuban Club Suites have been recommended. Two couples for long weekend.

If the two couples want to share a condo I'd suggest the Galleon on Front Street. Also on Front Street are the Ocean Key House and the Hyatt. All are good choices.

We stayed at Ambrosia House which was lovely. Not all rooms are suites, but they do have a few.

I would highly recommend the Marquesa -- beautiful rooms and courtyard, two pools, great service, a restaurant that gets great reviews, and no kids!

Another vote for the Marquesa - and the Cafe Marquesa is worth trying too!

Choosing among Hilton, Ocean Key, Casa Marina... thoughts?

WHERE IS THE MARQUESa LOCATED?

Forget the Casa Marina. The Wyndham hasn't done a very good job with their purchase of the Marriott properties. And the Hilton doesn't have a very good reputation either. If you want on the gulf stick with the Ocean Key House, the Hyatt or the Galleon. Marquesa is in a wonderful location near the gulf and Duval.

highly recommend 1800 Atlantic condos. Nice pool, right on the beach. and within walking distance to a better beach for sunbathing, water sports. Check around because units go for different prices.

The Cubam Club is very charming to, but it is located at the other end of Duval St. Eight fully equipped town-house units of 900-2,000 square ft have either two bedrooms and two baths or one bedroom and 1½ baths. Grouped in two buildings that feel like an exclusive apartment complex, they have king-size four-poster beds, queen-size sofa beds, wing chairs, cathedral ceilings, full kitchens, tile counters and floors, and washers and dryers. Wide balconies accessed through French doors overlook the excitement of Duval Street. 8 suites.

Have you actually stayed at the Cuban Suites? If not, do you know someone who has stayed there? When you say that they are at the other end of Duval Street, are we within walking distance of Mallory Square and the nite life? Thanks for your help.

Yes Jimmy, plus u can do the Duval St. crawl on the way 2 Mallory square & on the way back!!!!! We have never stayed there, but know some people who have. Stay at the Duval HOuse. It's a lovely bed and breakfast right on Duval Street and includes a lovely breakfast. Key West is a charming city and a b &b is a must. WE live a 4 hour drive away & believe me, a b &b is the way to go. Check out bbonline.com for several choices.

We just stayed at the Ambrosia 2 in their 2 bedroom 2 bath cottage. It would be ideal for 2 couples, as each bedroom has a queen bed and its own bath. One is up a spiral staircase, and the other on the ground floor. It has a living area with kitchen. It is lovely and at $379/night (when we were there)certainly no more expensive than 2 rooms in a nice place. You get more living space though.

The Marquesa Hotel address is 600 Fleming Street.

I would try the Galleon. That would be perfect for two couples.
