Where to Go for Next Trip??

I am now in the process of deciding where to go for my next trip....which will be this fall (October or November). I had been thinking of a few places....Turkey, Italy, Mexico among others. I realized that of the places I was pondering, most were still in the World Cup chase.

So, earlier this morning I had this (crazy)idea - go the whatever country wins the competition. In general, I am willing to go most anywhere. Am I totally looney, or does this sound like fun???

Most of the USA thinks soccer stinks. You're on your own.
It does sound like an interesting way to pick a location for your next trip. Wouldn't throwing a dart at a map be better?

Sounds like a fun idea, but I would choose Italy. Florence, Venice, Rome are great!

My favorite country to visit (I've been to most but chose to go back over and over again) is Switzerland. They don't have a team in the World Cup!

Go for it! A couple of years ago I was seated next to a lady on the plane and as we were talking she told me that she and her husband and 3 other couples (old friends) formed a group they called the travel club.

Each year on a rotating basis one couple picked the location (anywhere they wanted to go for 2 weeks), made all the arrangements and then told the rest of the group how much they owed, where they were going and when. No one else had any say. The rule was that there would be no complaining or whining for the whole trip. If you didn't like it you would just suck it up and go someplace you wanted to go when it was your turn it plan.

I thought it sounded like great fun but, before I spend that kind of money I want to make sure I'm going someplace I want to go.

Are you still deciding? All three of your choices are out of the running for the World Cup now. Too bad, I think that woudld have been a very fun idea. Especially if you could have gone just after the victory.

Regardless, my vote is still for Turkey. I've heard it's such an amazing place and I have always wanted to go. I guess I'll have to live vicariously through you.
