I always appreciate an update from the original thread poster, so here's mine. After checking out all the suggested restaurants through menus and zagat reviews, I finally decided upon Roberto Passon. It was the 'pumpkin ravioli" which drew me over. The atmosphere, though nothing fancy, was cozy, dim and romantic, the service PERFECT, and the food extremely good for the money. Thanks to all those who 'introduced' me to this little restaurant. Del Posto is on our list when we next visit the city for a day of shopping without worrying about theatre times.

I think I created a "monster" when I first recommended Roberto Passon here a couple years ago as a new discovery. I had searched and couldn't find a single reference to it here. I think soon they should set aside a Fodorite table there. Yours is the third post about eating there in the past three days -- all raves.

Yes, and I'm going again in a couple of weeks. I really enjoyed my first visit, even though I fell prey to the extraordinarily expensive "special" risotto.

NeoPatrick, I agree - we began eating there about 3 yrs ago at your suggestion - I recently had brunch there early Jan on one visit and now just returned from another wknd and had pre theater dinner there !
Now I can't always snag a rezzie whenever I want -
I definitely think we should write letters and propose a Fodorite table, with a small engraved plate on it that says "Thanks NeoPatrick " - now that would be fun -

JLBRN: look at Cafe desArtistes web site - just to be able to sit among the murals, flowers, etc and sit in the cozy bar -it's a great take ! one of my all time favorites when we visit the city
