Where is Dave??

Over the years I have received such thoughtful information regarding different reips I have been planning. Dave has always come through with the perfect solution to my dilemnas. I have not seen any mail from him recently and wondered if anyone knows if he still participates in the Forum.

There's a "Dave" who periodically pronounces in the Airlines forum.

Give us a hint -- I just skimmed maybe 20 of your various threads since 2005 and didn't find any "Dave's.

I did find probably 130 other fodorites who helped you. So what was his full screen name? Also - lots of folks have changed their screen names for various reasons.

The best way for you to see if this person is still around is to pull up some of your threads where he posted and then click on his name. That will bring up all his posts and you can see how recent they are . . . . . .

Isn't Dave one of the editors? I recall that one of the editors is no longer a part of Fodors. I am greatly saddened by that as he was a wonderful and impartial editor and I really enjoyed his input.

I know this sounds strange but some of those posts regarding transfering from Heathrow to Gatwick, and
France and Japan travel, as well as 2007 posts regarding CA coastal travel, etc. have been deleted. These were some of the threads that Dave helped a great deal.

That seems VERY odd. Threads do get deleted from time to time - but usually only when they run off in a ditch w/ name calling over controversial topics - or when they are started by someone who is obviously advertising.

I would be willing to bet that no (or almost none) threads about transfering from LHR to LGW, France, or Japan have been deleted.

Are you sure these were on Fodors? Have you ever been on other travel websites?

It is one thing for a single thread to be deleted - but to have several zapped would would be most unlikely . . . . .

Is it possible that you click on Dave's name, and don't get a list of threads? This means, he's no longer with Fodor's.

If you search and can't find a thread, it only means the search is not working.

Hi FainaA: The OP says the threads where this Dave helped him have all been deleted -- so he can't click on his name.

BTW - even if someone has left Fodors, all their threads remain -- unless they were zapped by the editors for advertising or for being a troll. Neither of these would seem to apply to the mysterious Dave.

People are not deleted w/o cause so IF Dave ever posted on Fodors, the threads are still there.
