Where is a beautiful golf and spa resort 3 hour drive from NYC?

We would like to drive somewhere for a long weekend outside of NYC.
We would like to take a scenic drive about 3 or 4 hours max.
Looking for golf and spa at a peaceful relaxing resort. Need to tune up from hectic couple of months.
Any suggestions?

I'm not big on resorts, but here's a try.

Vermont: Stratton, Equinox.
Upstate New York: Concord.
Maryland: Bulle Rock.
Long Island: Hamptons + LI National GC

There is a golf and spa resort in Absecon NJ (20 mins NW of Atlantic City) called the Seaview Marriott Country Club. I really enjoyed it! Though the Garden State Parkway is not exactly what I'd call a "scenic drive". This resort is far enough away from A.C. that you don't feel like you're anywhere NEAR A.C (it's peaceful). But close enough that you could easily go and gamble there if you'd like.

Also...Mohonk Mountain House outside New Paltz NY is gorgeous. I've been there several times though have not stayed there (rather expensive). It's in a very quiet, amazingly scenic area, on a lake surrounded by mountains and palisade-like rock formations. They have golf and boating and hiking trails...for the high price I can only assume they have spa services.

The Sagamore Hotel,Lake George,NY.
It is about 3 hours north,in the Adirondacks.Golf, spa, boating, great food, nothing like sitting at the dock on big Adirondack chairs and sipping a cocktail while watching the sun set.
They have hotel rooms in the main house and lodge rooms , we stay in the lodge, they have fireplaces and terraces overlooking the lake.
Look at the site, and see how you like it.
