It has been nearly 10 years since I have been, but we were there in November, and it was fairly nice. Typical NC mountain resort area, which to me means lots of natural beauty, a bit on the rustic side, but (if I remember correctly) this resort was a cut above. I guess it depends on what you are seeking, but if it is a beautiful setting and fine but perhaps not luxurious accomodations, I think this would be a good choice.

I have stayed there several times. I am not crazy about the on site restaurant but Blowing Rock offers plenty of options. The resort is nice with lovely grounds, an indoor pool, good kids' programs, easy access to shopping, etc and to some great hiking trails in Moses Cone Park just out the back way from the resort. Nice place.

I don't know what you are looking for, but this is a great getway in the area -

Thanks, everyone! Still sounds promising! This is a girls' trip, so we don't want to stay in a traditional hotel or have to drive far for meals (plus, a person could starve to death while trying to get 8 females to make a decision about a restaurant!).
