The Alexandra looked very nice and new. Right next to the beach as is where we stayed (The Palms, but now called The Regent I believe).

I compared the special they are having at Alexandra Resort with the special one night free that we got at the Palms and price was the same. More staff and service at the Palms.

Did not like the looks of Coral Gardens. Too remote and far away from places we liked to eat and old.
Great snorkeling, though.

Hi df50 - Even though we didn't stay at the Palms we enjoyed dining in their restaurant. Do you know if they have made any significant changes to the resort regarding dining (chef, etc.)? I've read several posts mentioning The Regent but didn't know it was now called The Palms. Personally, I think The Palms is a more appealing name and fits the look and feel of the resort.

We were at the Palms last August and we only ate breakfast and appetizers and dessert one evening. We enjoyed what we ate there and it was always quite busy.

I got an e-mail saying they were being bought by Regent and if it is the same group that had the Regent on Wall St. in NYC and at least one in Asia, they are a very upscale hotel group and I would expect all changes to be good ones. I just don't know if they are the same company.
Our trip to T&C was one of our favorite and the Palms was excellent.

The construction at Alexandra is pretty predominent for now-especially around the pool area and restaurant. You can't really see it from the beach.

For less construction, check out:
