Where Do the Locals Go?
Hi, I posted under reply when I wanted my own question - gad! Well I'll be in SA next week and have gotten good restaurant ideas here. I am curious, do the locals have their own haunts rather than trendy touristy restaurants? Also anything we really should see thats not in the guide books? I love getting off the beaten track! Thanks
Joan

I have noticed the expnaded use of intitials instead the name of places. This familiarity for places they have yet to visit seems lazy and almost disrepetful.
There was a posting regarding restaurants at OBX. I did not bother to open it and still do not know what or where is OBX.
Posters on the Spain board often ask questions about BCN, the airport deisgnation for Barcelona. I tell them there are limited services at the airport but the city itself is one of my favorites.
If someone is asking for suggestions maybe basic information would be useful.
Call me cranky, but I want Andy Rooney's job when he dies in twenty years at age 107.

From Joan's post on the GTG thread it does sound like San Antonio... like the others said Joan I'd repost with San Antonio in the title. I know our current system can be confusing for first time posters; there is not a specific San Antonio or even Texas forum. When you repost, you can select Texas so that other users looking for just Texas posts can quickly find it.
I'm sure if you reposted with San Antonio in the title you'd receive several great ideas.

Further, if you don't know the abbreviation, you probably can't help anyway, so it's saving you time as well. This OP needs to put something in her header/title that indicates some locale...
Not necessarily so. I live in NYC and someone wanted infromation on the ESB, which turned out to be the Empire State Building and I have never heard anyone call it that before.
A number of years we visited the Outer Banks and had a delighful stay. I would not offer information since it was more than a year and my opinions would be obsolete but I thought it was called the Outer Banks.
