Where are you going for Memorial Weekend?
We're in the planning stages for a Memorial Weekend trip (a birthday weekend for dh). I'm looking at La Jolla/San Diego (I'll already be in CA), Mexico or Santa Fe. There are excellent fares right now to Mexico ($99 each way) so that is very appealing.
Are you traveling? Or are you staying at home to avoid the crowds?

Hi Beachgirl,
My best friend and I are hosting a party/BBQ for several couples on one of the nights. We rarely travel on this weekend.
My son's school just sent home a father/son canoe trip flyer for that weekend which I think is just idiotic since that generally is "family" weekend - Thankfully, my 13 yo son does not want to go, but what if he did??
LaJolla sounds great!!! Have fun planning!

We're debating between going to Baltimore to visit friends or St. Louis to visit Fiance's grandparents and to catch a Cardinals game...
I've never thought of Memorial Day weekend as a "family weekend"... I think of it more as a weekend to spend outdoors, hanging out with friends. Thus, the canoe trip mentioned above sounds like it would be a good activity for 13 year old boys and their fathers.

shormk2 - If you need any suggestions if you decide on STL let me know!
For my family, it was and is always family BBQ's, reunions, outings with my grandparents when they were alive and now outings with my kids and thier grandparents.
We always do a hike or biking with the kids one fo the days. When they were smaller we would head to the Pool as it was opening for the season.

Annapolis/DC/Richmond, bro-in-law is getting married and we are making a trip out of it. Our son will enjoy dino bones and whales at the mall, my wife and I will enjoy blue crabs, and we'll enjoy our first whole family vacation.

Scratch Mexico! Leading news is the growing violence in Mexico from the drug cartel.
Hopefully, a travelzoo or ding deal will pop up soon that will make our decision easy.
Mom and annesherrod, I love bbqs. They are so enjoyable and relaxing. And I love bbq! Mom, we don't have a pool anymore either but we still have a great time with everyone in the backyard. It may have something to do with beer and the margarita machine!

Mexico did sound good. Murders of tourists is deterring me for now. Found a reward ticket to Vancouver so that has popped to the top of the list.
