What's the weather like in early October?
I'm hoping to be able to wear a nice jacket and scarf. But it hasn't cooled down that much by then has it? Is New Jersey pretty much like NY when it comes to weather?

It's usually somewhere between 65-75 during the day in October, and 10-15 degrees cooler at night. You could very feasibly want shorts during the day and a light jacket and/or scarf at night. With the exception of the shore (which can be chillier from the breeze) NYC is a good point of reference.
