>>LeeAnn--You are close! Yes, the "F" board is one. Also try Trip Advisor...the Oregon forums are quite entertaining<<

Yes, and the name I've seen her use there has a kind of ***wine*** in it...

I'll have to take a look at TripAdvisor, just for fun!

I thing the "what the heck happened to the boyfriend post" now has more responses than the original boyfriend post. What does that mean?

To the previous poster, yes, I think we have sad Saturday nights! This has been a great thread to read, and the other one, as well. I know to whom you are referring to on the
Caribbean board...what a menace..hopefully, he won't come here! Thanks to everyone who responds...it has been a great summer for me to read all this. I am a teacher, and I will be setting up my classroom in the next couple of weeks and will check this site as time allows!!

We had dinner plans at our favorite fish cellar, but we cancelled. This freakin heat is unbearable. So it's just been a sloooow Saturday in general in the NY metro area (that's my excuse and I'm stickin with it, lol). Best just to stay indoors and hang out online. I hear cooler weather is on tap for Monday - can't wait

For what it's worth, seetheworld, it's finally cooler here in the Chicago 'burbs. We've had our air off pretty much all day! Tried to do that the other day 'cause the temp was lower. But it was just too damn humid! Anyway, seems you guys often get our weather a couple of days later. So, with a little luck, you will be cooling off soon.

Hey, mms, can I ask what food boards you follow? I've been trying to find a good one for "healthy" food. But I'd be interested in any that are active.

It is roasting here, so we went out for mexican and sat outside with a wonderful breeze and several margaritas

Caph--So far I have not found any boards that really cater to healthy food. I wish I knew! I do not post on Chowhound, but on the homecooking page there are occassional posts about healthy food. One site that is good is ediets.com. I use that and do get lots of great recipes, but you have to join (it is worth it though). I also use Cooking Light which I love.

Caph- Chowhound is good. They have lots of different boards...from regional/city ones to home cooking and "not about food" ones.

Ah yes..other ***posters*** the type that ride around on pink cycles drinking wine and planning to go to all the best places 'next time'.

Que Syrah, syrah, as someone said!

Anything you can do to cool us off, CAPH, would be greatly appreciated

This has got to be one of the hottest summers we've experienced in a long time.

Thanks, mms. I love Cooking Light too. Healthy recipes that actually taste good! I'll have to check out ediets.com.

Thanks to you too, Icuy! I used to follow the Chicago restaurant stuff on Chowhound. Not sure why I quit. I didn't realize they had other boards. I'll definitely check back in there.

seetheworld, definitely the hottest and *dryest* we've had for a while too. Although we've finally been getting some rain the past few days. The other day we got the worst electric bill we've ever had! Bothered me until I thought about how glad I am that we have central air. All it took was thinking back on the 11 years we spent in a 2nd story flat with no central air!

I love Cooking Light magazine! I just made a delicious cold chicken curry salad with raisins and apples. It also has a section on healthy living, eating smart, (not that I always do that) and a fitness section. For me, it has been a really great investment.

I agree, seetheworld, probably the most expensive magazine I subscribe to, but well worth it!

Well, bite my butt and call me stupid. I just thought ***she*** was crazy, but now I know for sure.

Heck, I'm gonna go pour me another glass of "syrah".

Please tell me I "got it".

I hear ya CAPH! I think it was one night last week it was cool enough to open the windows (kinda feeling the electric crunch too). The next morning I woke up with my eyes nearly swollen shut - too dusty and dry outside. We need rain, a slow, soft rain!

I have company coming tomorrow, ugh. My DH plans on putting fans out on the deck to move the air around. Should make for an interesting conversation started, dontcha think!?!

Well, I don't want to do either, Iceu2...but now I'm not sure I fully *get* it!

iceeu2--Yup, you got it

Caph--We do not have central air...yet! We are planning on having it put in within the next couple weeks. I just can't take it anymore. We are in a little pocket that if it is 90 in Portland, we are high 90's...and I am just not cut out for heat. Yes, I'm a wimp and I fully admit it

So, mms, upper 90s in Portland? Wow, will Scarlett be experiencing such temperatures where she lives? Not too different from Florida, huh? But I'm sure not typical for your area.
