Drink that reminds of vacation. The second Long Island Iced Tea consumed poolside in blazing Palm Springs heat. My husband didn't tell me he was ordering doubles....night spent with head on cool marble floor next to toilet at the Ritz Carlton....

Another vote for Rum Swizzles in Bermuda, also pickled green beans in Bloody Marys ala New Orleans. The best was a fantastic Bloody Mary at a Holiday Inn in Denver and the absolute worst was an $11 draft beer at the Cleveland Airport (the only truly horrible beer that I've ever had).

I loved reading everyone's replies, but it also made me think of a side topic.

Has anyone ever had a drink that may have been drugged? I had three drinks last spring in SF at bars of nice restaurants, which seems like a lot but wasn't really for me, also spread over a few hours. After the last one, I got really foggy and sleepy and barely remember my evening out. I was embarassed, like I couldn't handle my booze; but I didn't feel drunk, just completely wiped out and tired. Then another friend said they were in Vegas by the hotel pool. Ordered drinks, which the husbands ended up drinking and one seemed drugged. Same thing, a few minutes after drinking cocktail he was passing out in the pool. Is this happening more, or did I just have a weird experience?

Rum punch in Belize
Also Belikin beer in Belize

They all sound good about now. We've had the coldest summer in recent memory, I need to go to the tropics....

Drinking those little mini-bottles
of peppermint schnopps on a ski-lift
(actually it's the only thing I have ever found that truly keeps my goggles from fogging...
8-)
or... splitting a bottle of Paradux
at late lunch in the winter
before a 3 hour spa session in
Calistoga
(only advised when not
driving anywhere)

a sunset vodka tonic at the house on St. John
after a day of snorkeling
><
when do we leave?

The Bermuda Rum Swizzle

6.0 dashes Bitters Angostura
2.0 oz. Grenadine
1.0 oz. Lime Juice
5.0 oz. Orange Juice
5.0 oz. Pineapple Juice
4.0 oz. Rum Dark
4.0 oz. Rum Light

Fill a pitcher 1/3 full with crushed ice. Add all ingredients and stir or shake vigorously until a frothing head appears. Strain into sour glasses. Serves 6. Note: This is the original recipe from Gosling.

The saying goes "Swizzle Inn, Swagger Out" at the Swizzle Inn located in the Hamilton Parish of Bermuda. Don't plan on riding your scooter if you down a couple of pitchers of this stuff
