Just a family BBQ then off to see a parade and sky divers landing on Sunset Blvd.

fairfax, Thank you!
I have been loving reading your blog, love the photos, love your castle

My Fourth of July plans changed a bit..
the top of a tree fell on our house while a storm was brewing, (big wind), it broke our kitchen skylight.
My neighbor climbed a ladder up there, put up plastic and just as the sky opened up with heavy rain and lightning, he was finished.
Everyone, hug a neighbor today

I'm jealous of sunburn 1944's plans for the blues festival in Portland, OR. I'm going to Reno next weekend to see Curtis Salgado (who is in Portland today) - hope you see him! Tomorrow it's the SF Fillmore Jazz festival for me! Robin

Oh Scarlett, OMG. Right when you are trying to get ready to go to Portland. Yes, hug a neighbor for sure. My neighbor is sure an angel!
And you have repairs needed, right at the beginning of a three day weekend. I am so sorry.

Live here in N. Myrtle Beach and will welcome all the tourist. They are definitely here!! Will see the fireworks from the deck of my house going on from the beach. Wonderful to see all the American flags waving from the front of houses up and down my street. Next door neighbors are always great to invite us for a barbecue.

Our plans have changed a bit - a friend at church gave us tickets to the Isotopes game! They have a great fireworks show after the game.

The only drawback is the tickets are for the grass berm area by the outfield, meaning we'll need our hats, sunscreen, lots of water, etc. It'll be hot and sunny for a good chunk of the game. Oh, well, it's free!

We are just back from our church picnic where I won second prize for my Double Fudge Cake. (The woman who won first prize had a beautifully decorated Hummingbird Cake.) It's a covered dish dinner with the church providing hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks. My cake plate came home scraped clean.

DH pitched horse shoes, grandson visited the ducking booth and then went in the swimming pool, and I sat at a picnic table in the shade enjoying the breeze--until the breeze stopped and it got to be 90 degrees. Then we came home and had a nap in air conditioned comfort.

Tomorrow I plan to start getting things together for a trip to the Florida Panhandle. Leaving next Saturday for a week's family get together of 16 people in a big rented house a block off the beach. It can't be any hotter than Kentucky.

July 5: Pennsylvania:
Husband did some painting. I cleaned and made sure star directions were outside with our flag.
Then, by noon had a picnic at brother's house then relaxed in their pool. When we got home we napped, then saw the Pittsburgh Fireworks on TV. It is too crowded and too much traffic to go into the city! It is nice on TV and puts you in the sprit of things.
