We are remodeling our downstairs bathroom. Anybody wanna help?

If we get everything done on or before Monday afternoon, we will probably head downtown to the festival in San Jose. We've never been since we usually spend July 4th over on the coast with family, but I hear it is pretty fun.

OO
I sure do understand. Hard decision. Boats, water, sun and sand and the smell of the air just gets in your blood.

We are going to the Great Smokey Mountains!

Grown kid and grandkids will join us, as well as Canooks from Ontario! There will be 15 of us in all and will will teach those Canadians how to drink beer! Yeah, right!

That hunk of a country music star Billy Ray Cyrus will be performing at Patriots' Park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Can't get more country than that!

Gratefully we have a Saturday to do things like catch up in the garden and ready for a garage sale the 9th. Sunday we head up to Healdsburg to stay with a old and very good friend. We usually barbque and make lots of salads and eat off the bounty for a couple of days. Fireworks will be at the Healdsburg High School. In between there will be gabbing a plenty!

I'll be enjoying the festivities in downtown Oklahoma City. Celebrating the Fourth will actually be a three day festival. Live music all three days, the 41st annual parade, lawn games and stiltwalking at the Myriad Gardens, baseball and water taxi rides in Bricktown, and of course, fireworks.

Relaxing for three nights at the Embassy Suites in Bloomington, Minn. During the day will be shopping, getting our car serviced, and whatever else we feel like. This is a great time of year to hit the Lands' End Inlets for clothing clearances. My husband earned a free pass to Valley Fair (amusement park) and I can go for half-price. Wheeee!

J_Correa--we just finished our downstairs bathroom remodel about a month ago so I'm going to pass ;-) We donated the sink, cabinet, toilet, etc., to the Re-Store, the Habitat for Humanity homestore which accepts new and used building supplies.

We'll be home this weekend--DH has a lot of paper work to catch up on after being gone for two weeks. I've been working on a garden project outside that I hope to finish this weekend. Also, I'll be conducting a rain dance on the roof at mid-night as we've had none in over a month. I am so grateful to our pet sitter as she managed to keep our plants alive while we were away!

Happy 4th of July!

dcespedes...see if you can make the rain stretch over to the northeast side of town too, OK? Our backyard makes the sounds of Rice Crispies as you walk across it. Have a nice 4th!

Visiting my brother and SIL in Charlotte. We'll pop over to SC to buy fireworks. Most SC fireworks illegal in NC, but most people on my brother's street have a huge cache of them. (insert fireworks emoticon here)

Might cook out, might not.

My husband and I are going to Boston. I've never been, so I'm excited to see how they celebrate the Fourth, despite the anticipated crowds.

This will be the first time in 3 years that we're not scalloping in Steinhatchee, FL, on opening weekend ... didn't get invited back. Guess I'd better check the photos from last year to see why!

I will be spending the 4th moping and sulking in wales. i've moved there from the US, where i lived right by the water, and watched fireworks on the harbour. i keep hearing about fun parties friends are having.

hmmm.. for some odd reason they're shooting some off now!). Anyway, the castle where i work, has agreed to fly an american flag for me on monday. i will be baking a flag cake for my staff - the one with the berries for stars & stripes. i will be wearing my USNA rugby shirt that looks like an american flag.

Have a great 4th!
