Whales in May?

Has anybody seen whales in May? I know that's after the end of the season, but I was just wondering if there was any chance we'd luck out.

What part of May? Also which island? Assuming that you are refering to Maui, I saw 3 whales in late April/early May this year. Last year in March they were almost everywhere I looked.

The whales are most plentiful in the channel between Maui and Lanai. This is where you will have the best chance of seeing any. Sightings vary every year, but second week of May is probably iffy. You may want to check the Pacific Whale foundation site a couple of days prior to your trip www.pacificwhale.org - they give reports on sightings daily during the reason. Good luck.
