Whaler Condo Maui?

Anyone stayed at the Whaler recently? How's the beach? Any down sides?

Thanks.

The Whaler is my favorite place to stay in Maui. It is a beachfront property right in the middle of beautiful Kaanapali Beach !! And it is right next door to Whaler's Village (stores, restaurants, bars, etc). It is a condo which means it has fully equipped kitchens. However, as a condo there are fewer amenities than the large hotels. There is no restaurant on the premises, but there is a selction of restaurants right next door. Great place !!

The beach is very good and it's a wonderful location, next to stores, cafe's, and other large hotels. The downside is that all units are individually owned, some are nicer then others, you can always ask to see the unit when you check in and if it is not acceptable see if they have something else. All in all it's a good place to stay. The pool is small tho, not one of those "Hyatt" resort type pools.

I was just there last November. The location on the beach is great!!! No complaints at all! I liked it because it was within walking distance of shops and resturants. The downside is that the unit we particulary stayed in was very dated. But we were not in the condo much and when we were, we were outside on the lanai! (having cocktails!!) Use the "Entertainment" card from a Happenings Book and get 50% of rack rates. Let me know if you have specific questions!

Hi-
Go to www.entertainment.com and you can order a Happenings book. (That is what I call the book here in MN.) You can purchase a book for about $20-$30 & it is all coupons. There is a card in the front cover that is like your "Entertainment Membership Card." Call the Whaler, ask for your dates and the Entertainment rate. If there is still avavilability for those rates, it is 50% off rack rates. Hope that helps, if not let me know.
PS> We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath w/ full kitchen for $204 or $214 a night.

We just returned from Kanapali Ali'i right next door (other side of Westin) and it had a bigger pool than the Whaler. We were really happy with it.
