I think I had better ask for a note from the hospital tomorrow - just in case!! It was my blood which was mixed with the isotopes (and then returned to me!) It was for diagnostic purposes. No isolation, here - but the toilet in the nuclear medicine department was only for the use of patients!
Thanks bigtyke, you've made me feel better about the Camelback Inn (yes, that was the one) now. But we shall certainly use repellants anyway. The repellant we have in this country, sometimes contains DEET (one gel I have does), but others (like the lotion I have to take with us - and the 'Jungle Strength' wipes!!) contain ethyl butylacetylamino propionate.
We also have a plug-in thing, into which you put special tablets, which contains something which vapourises. Unfortunately, it has a European (non UK) plug on it, so wouldn't fit into our US adaptor. Bum!
