I live in a pre-war coop and I have a dishwasher AND a fitness center!!! Sure, the outside of the building is your typical brown brick facade but the inside is really nice. That area of Hell's Kitchen is way too far west.

We are walkers Mikemo, but 6th ave. is REALLY different than 11th ave. It's about a mile away and up til now, the only things on 11th ave. have been warehouses, garages and car dealerships. Yes it will get built up, but right now it's almost a no man's land.

gladiator, if you'll be working in Times Square, you should consider living on the Upper West Side.

Tons of apartment buildings in all price ranges, and an easy commute to your office.

check out www.craigslist.com

If you can share your budget for monthly rental, that would be helpful.

A full-service bldg with a fitness center will most likely be post-war (99%) and expensive.
