I'm back, the flight was hell, but no issue at all with the snow in NYC. In fact there wasn't any snow on the road at all, thanks. Nice! This cheapo flight to NYC gave me 8000+ frequent flier miles on Lufthansa. Now I've got those 30000 miles needed for a free flight to South Africa next month. Please do answer my question on the "Africa board". And yes, I do like NYC!!! I do hate Lufthansa, but as log as they get me there for free, I have a hard time complaining. Awful, I know!

Nope, done too much driving. Up to RI and back, since it were only 3 days there wasn't much to see anyway. Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens. Didn't visit Ellis Island or the statue of liberty, just to difficult to find inexpensive parking. Am I a moron not having seen those places? Maybe I wasn't really interested, I'm sorry. I know, it sounds odd, but I can go there again any day, just buy a plane ticket, so I was just too lazy. And I didn't think it would be very exotic. I visited the Taj Mahal for free this summer. I liked that. I also do like NYC but I think I'll do the smaller things later. I want to visit Krüger National Park now, see some lions . DIY and as cheap as possible just like all those other places.

It only has to be safe, if it isn't, I won't go there.
Will I encounter any problems? The bronx wasn't a problem.

Otoh, to all you New Yorkers coming to Europe, visit Munich, it's not exotic, excpet that there's no ice. People speak English and traffic is just like in the Bronx. (except for the potholes).
In fact it felt very much like home.
