Washington Marriott or Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel

My family is going to visit DC at the end of next month. I need to pick up a hotel between these two. Can anyone please give me a suggestion? Location, convenience to those attraction sites and street safety are all under my consideration.

Thanks very much!

Not sure about which I would pick between the two - the Metro is so easy to use and get around. Any way you can stay at the Marriott Pentagon City location? Breakfast buffet included each day, Mon, Tue, Wed nights has salad/light dinner included and wine/beer. Very safe location, near metro, Pentagon Mall, grocery store, etc. Rooms are mini suites with diswhaser/fridge, sink. Just another option while waiting for other responses on your two locations.

These two hotels are pratically next door. Both are in a very safe neighborhood. The Rennaissance is a former Wyndham and I'm not sure what it's like now that it has been rebranded. I think it is a toss up

I would pick the Marriott. A bit nicer though I think the Renaissance just had a major renovation. in the end, both are good choices.

I realized last night there are two Renaissances. One, in Chinatown/Convention Center and one in West End/Foggy Bottom. Both are good locales and perfectly safe, although the one in Foggy Bottom may FEEL safer.
