I haven't eaten there in two years but this restaurant garners top honors every year in the "best of" articles in the Wash Post and the Washingtonian magazine. It's a perfect special occasion place. Very expensive.

Very good, very conservative. Went for a birthday dinner 2 years ago.

You'll love it.

This restaurant is a favorite with Georgetown students who are sick of eating in the cafeteria and want their parents to take them out to a really nice dinner. It is very good and very expensive. A jacket and possibly a tie is required. Reservations are a must on Friday and Saturday nights.

It's a beautiful, classic restaurant in an old rowhouse. Great food. At the holidays, the place is amazingly beautful.

Yes, a jacket is required for men (they keep one of those HUGE ones available) and there is valet parking if needed. The service is absolutely EXCELLENT and I have never ever had a "bad" meal there. One of the nicest restaurants in the city IMO.

Thanks everyone. Its not often you get totally positive responses to any question on Fodors. It sounds so good, I've made reservations for this Friday night. Thanks again.

let us know what you think! Was there last weekend, it had been several years and fell in love with it all over.
Also discovered "Nectar" GW section / Foggy Bottom, more asual, still upscale, more "hip" with an amazing selection of wine by the glass...

Reporting back - dinner was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant lived up to all of the recommendations. We tried the tasting menu and every course and accompanying wine was out of this world. Thanks again to everyone who commented.
