Washington Circle Hotel in DC

Considering staying in Washington Circle in DC. How is this area, any restaurants and is it safe for a family of 4?

One Washington Circle Hotel?

You can walk to Georgetown and Dupont Circle areas from there for dining options. Yes, it is safe for a family of 4 or any number.

I stayed there with my husband for a weekend in late October. It was very nice. We walked to the Mall from there which was about 15-20 minutes' walk for us. We were in town for a wedding which was near Dupont Circle, and walked back to the hotel at night and had no problems nor felt unsafe. We found the area to be nice, and we enjoyed seeing all the students around.

My wife and I stayed there for 12 nights this past Christmas - New Years. We chose it for good price, full kitchenette (used mainly for breakfasts), close to Metro. Success on all those scores.

Minor negative in potential noise due to proximity to major hospital, and thinner walls. But on balance we'd stay there again. Rooms were clean, staff friendly.

Not so many restaurants right next to the hotel, but a decent amount within a 10 minute walk or short metro ride.

In another thread someone mentions construction at Foggy Bottom metro station going on now, lasting perhaps a few months.
