WALT DISNEY WORLD GROCERY STORES?
I will be staying at The Old Key West Resort in August. To try to save some money, I would like to utilize my kitchen for Breakfast and Dinner and just eat lunch at the Parks. Is there a grocery store on Disney property and what is the best way to get to it (i.e. Taxi/bus)?

There is a small store on International Drive (I think that's the name of the road) that we bought some food at when we were there 2 years ago. I am not sure if they have a grocery store at the Disney property your staying at, but International Drive wasn't that far away from Magic Kingdom/SeaWorld, etc. Hope that helps!!

Each of the time share resorts have minigrocery stores in their gift shops. There is also a regular grocery store just off of Disney property travelling from Old Key West, past Downtown Disney and the MArketplace. I believe its an Albertsons. It's about 5 minutes away. Sorry the directions aren't more specific but a cab could easily get you there-just ask at OKW for directions.

I do not know of a grocery store on Disney property. They sell food but you would go broke buying anything from their stores. We purchased groceries in the past from Publix and also purchased a styrofoam cooler. Disney has free ice and its cheaper than renting a fridge (unless it comes with your room). The idea about taking a cab is a good idea if you do not have a rental car. I am sure Publix will have a web site to help you locate a store.
Good luck

I don't remember the name of it but there is a full size grocery store outide the entrance to WDW near Downtown Disney. It was packed with people doing just what you plan to do.
When we went I just got snacks and bfast items along with bottled water. We usually had a back pack with us. The snack thing didn't work out like I had planned, I needed sturdier containers to put snack type foods in as the water crushed some of the things.
I don't remember if it's a walkable distance from the Downtown Disney bus stop, but don't think it is. We had a car so it didn't matter for us.

Travelinman,
The following is very close to WDW:
On I-4, take exit 68 at the Orlando Premium Outlet mall. Behind the outlet, you will find the usual drugstore and grocery chains.
The grocery store near the Disney entrance is very expensive, but still a lot cheaper than the local restaurants. It's in a plaza just outside of the entrance to Disney Village (same road as the Grand Cypress to give you a landmark).

If you have a car, go to one of the grocery stores a few miles from WDW. I first went to a grocery store (name escapes me-2 weeks ago) near downtown Disney and found it to be outrageously expensive. The next day I found one (there's many) 15 minutes away and found the prices to be half what they were at the other grocery store. We rent a little fridge from WDW and try to eat breakfast, a few lunches, and keep beer/pop cold. Doing so we figure we save (even w/ $10 day fridge rental) at least $25 a day. Not too mention the convenience. Enjoy!
