Walking from Embassy Suites, Washington DC

Can anyone tell me the "real" walking distance from Embassy Suites (not Embassy Square) to any metro (I think it is located between Foggy Bottom and Dupont?).

Thanks

Walking distance in DC is exactly that ...distance. Pay for a taxi.

There's quite a distance walking between Foggy Bottom and Dupont. Try calling Embassy Suites. I'm sure they'll have specific info on that. If you have a few people in your party, a taxi might be just a much as metro depending on where you go. Or the Georgetown Shuttle may pass your way on the way to either Dupont or Foggy Bottom metros, just $.50 fare. Check georgetowndc.com for shuttle bus routes.

last semester i used to walk every day from my job at Dupont Circle to school in Foggy Bottom, passing Embassy Suites. it's about 25 minutes lugging a huge backpack full of law books. so anywhere between the two metros will be very walkable.

We are staying at this hotel in June. We specifically asked them how far the nearest metro station was when we booked. Their reply is that the Dupont Circle metro is 3 blocks away, about a 10 minute walk.

Hope this helps.

For a map of that area, try the following link from Stationmasters, which coordinates with the DC Metro system.

Pretty much everything there is to do as far as tourist sightseeing includes a fair amount of walking. If you walk, you certainly won't stand out! Bring some comfortable shoes and enjoy your visit.

Isn't that the Embassy Suites on 22nd Street, just behind GW's campus? If that's it, then it's very close to the Foggy Bottom stop--maybe a 5-minute walk, tops.

Embassy Suites is about 4 city blocks from the Dupont metro (pretty close). The Foggy Bottom stop is about 10 city blocks away. You will also be about 9 walking blocks east of Georgetown (there's no metro in Georgetown). The above posted response for the Stationmasters website is also a good idea. Print out some of the metro station area maps (especially the Dupont station in your case) before you leave home. Again: http://www.stationmasters.com/System.../dupontci.html
