Hotel w/ ktichen, DC area

I have a friend who will soon be working in Fairfax City about a week every month, and he's looking for a hotel with a kitchen. Anywhere between Arlington and Fairfax City. He'll have a car, but prefers to be close to the Metro, as he'll be traveling into DC to see clients occasionally. Nothing in Alexandria--as I know full well, it's a pain driving from Alex to Fairfax during rush hour.

Washington Suites Georgetown - it is not really in Georgetown but near Foggy Bottom Metro stop (about 3 blocks) and also walking distance to Georgetown. They have 1 bedroom suites with full kitchen; continental breakfast included.

Also try River Inn in Foggy Bottom, DC. 1 BR suites with full kitchen. Feels like an apartment rather than hotel room.

Virginia Suites in Arlington. Walking distance (or free shuttle) to Rosslyn Metro stop, where the Orange Line can be boarded to Fairfax. Don't forget the hotel & sales taxes of DC vs VA.

Thanks, Rb. Virginia Suites was about all I could come up with, too, so I guess I'll go check that out.

If anyone else has suggestions, I'm only looking in VA, not DC, and kind of along the 50/66 corridor from Arlington to Fairfax City.

I State Plaza Hotel has rooms with kitchens. It's in Foggy Bottom on F Street. It's about 2 blocks from the metro station.

Try the Homewood Suites Chain by Hilton. They usually have a decent size kitchen and I know they have a DC location. Another option would be to check if Extended Stay America has any hotels in the area.

Sorry..I didn't see your above post about DC. I'm not familiar with the outskirts of DC but check out their website anyway (www.homewoodsuites.com) there might be something close to what you are looking for.
