Waikiki On a (tight) Budget?
Hi There!
Was just hoping for afew ideas? We have won the airfares to Waikiki, Hawaii for a holiday later in the year but will have to be on a tight budget. Apart from Hostels, could anyone recommend cheap but clean and decent accommodation? I know there must be deals going around, but I have no idea how to find them? Any advice would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks

Not sure what you mean when you say budget? We rent a cottage on the North Shore for $600 a week and I consider that budget even though it is $86 a night. But that is for a 1 bedroom cotttage about 30 feet from the water.
Your best bet is to just start checking web sites. There are many listed in other posts here, or go to Google.com and type in Hawaii accomadations.
Good luck
Duane

The Entertainment Book (any city's edition) will get you 50% off rack rates at even already budget hotels in their book listing. This is based on the hotel being less than 80% full when you want to stay, although sometimes they'll even waive that, so book as far ahead as possible.
See at entertainment.com
buy your own city's book, and depending on your trip dates (the books are good from issue date - Aug or Sept releases -to Nov 1st of following year) you can buy ready-to-expire books for $10+$5 S&H! Normally $25-40.
I recommend Waikiki Grand, Coconut Plaza, Queen Kapiolani or Hawaiiana Hotel. Basic, clean, good locations.

Look at www.biddingfortravel.com This gives info on successful Priceline bids, many are under $50.00 in Hawaii. Some great values.
