Vegas Where to Start

Vegas Hotels !! There are so many to choose from, would love some advice on where to stay and for how long. Planning a trip Sept /Oct 2016. Love casino's and entertainment, pools and spas not so high on the agenda, want to be part of the action at a reasonable price any advice on where to stay and must do's would be appreciated.

What do you consider a reasonable price?

I would check the convention center calendar to be sure that you're not going the same time as a major convention (many in Sept and Oct) which can drive hotel prices way up.

We stayed at Bally's, which we thought was very well located mid-strip. The room was large and the price was low.

If you want a great pool scene and good entertainment but don't want to pay weekend prices, simply go Sunday through Thursday. Rates are typically half or less than during the week, and you can stay at a great hotel. I'd look at a location mid-Strip; that's where many of the hot new hotels are located. The Flamingo has a better pool than Ballys.

I also don't know what you mean by a "reasonable" price, so that really is important.

Hi all we are probably looking around the $200AUS or less per night on average. Have looked at a couple of web pages and no availability I just thought that maybe they don't take bookings that far in advance, but maybe there are conventions on. Besides the price hike is it a bad idea to go when conventions are on ?

The reason you unable to find hotel rates is you are looking too far out. Check for October 2015 to get a relative idea on room rates and be aware that most Strip hotels have a daily resort fee. Here is a link to current resort fees:

The weather is nicer in October than September, but the temperatures drop near the end of the month.

You could sign up for some of the hotels reward cards. They cost nothing and can give you access to some special offers. They will appear on your email. I know M-life, and I can't remember what the Caesars Palace group one is called. Our personal favorite in LV is the Aria. Expensive at weekends, but reasonable during the week.

Right now, that price point will work if there's not a huge event or convention planned the week or your arrival. However, I misread your initial post. It's far far too early to make such arrangements. And kind of silly to do so because promotional pricing (and the best discounts) never happens until much closer to the time of travel.

Joining the various affinity programs is a good way to access discounts and get a better handle on pricing. If you join MLife and the Caesars programs, that covers many of the hottest hotels.

I also love Aria. Great restaurants, beautiful rooms, less smoky casino, and proximity to everything.

Sign up for unlisted offers in the upper right hand corner.

I've stayed at :
Bellagio: lovely if you get a good rate! Nice pools. Perfect location
Caesars: good pools, mid week can be cheap, nice rooms
Wynn: more expensive but gorgeous!!
Venetian: lovely but can't comment on the pools as was there in Winter
Have heard excellent things sbout Aria and their buffet is awesome but haven't stayed there.
O and Ka are brilliant shows!!!

Thanks everyone for your opinions. Would June be a good time to search accommodation for an October stay or still too early I don't want to miss out on the hotel we eventually decide on
