My wife and I will be in Vegas at the end of November and we'd like to go to a couple of shows while we're there.

Was thinking one "pricey" show ala O, Mystere, or Siegfried & Roy, as well as one "moderate" show.

Assuming I can still get tickets to any of them (which I'm finding out right now), which ones would you guys recommend?

You have always had great advice in the past.

Siegfried and Roy are truly Las Vegas, whereas various Cirque du Soleil shows can be seen in a variety of locales. S & R's show is spectacular and has my vote if you are limited to one pricey show. But if you like magicians, Lance Burton has a more moderately priced show at Monte Carlo that is exceptional. Have fun.

We lived in Vegas area several years, and would recommend Folies Bragiere(sp?) at the Tropicana if you'd like professionally done "showgirls" event. You can enjoy dinner and show for under $60 each and it's fun. Also agree that Lance Burton is great, and Mystere is too. Have fun!

No other Cirque Du Soleil shows on tour are like "O" as far as the theater itself, the stage, etc. It is truly unique and in my opinion a must.

Danny Gans at the Mirage. Fantastic impersonator / singer. A great show. Always sold out, but I would give it a try.

We just came from Vegas and watched a show for every night we were there-ordered all tickets online (Vegas.com and directly from the hotels the shows are located) and picked them up when we got there-saw Mystere at Treas Is(our first Cirque since O's tickets were hard to get), Mama Mia at Mandalay, Lance Burton (seen David Copperfield and S&R but this guy is really worth the money), Amazing Jonathan at Flamingo (his own brand of humor which can be offensive to women but my hubby and I has not laughed so hard for along time). Just bear in mind these and most shows are 90 mins long except Mama w/c is 2 hrs 15 min. -this will help you w/ dinner reservations which is important if you are dining at the "prime" restaurants....

Actally saw Lance Burton but many, many years ago....really enjoyed it. Glad to hear he still puts on a good show...will definitely consider going again since my wife has never seen him. Would I need to buy tix for his show in advance?

For Lance Burton tickets -to be on the safe side- I booked the tickets directly with Monte Carlo a week before our trip(thru their website) and then picked up the tickets from the hotel ticket center a day before the show (there are instructions once you go online and book it- very easy and fast).

Sorry to see that obviously S and R are now off your list...

We LOVED Penn and Teller. They are at the Rio. We sat in the second row and my husband was picked to help Penn do a card trick. It was really fun. They do a great job of revealing some of the cheezier sides to magic and are quite hilarious as well. Then they go and blow your mind with some unreal magic, that you will never ever figure out. After the show they meet and greet in the lobby, take photos, what not. Seem pretty cool.

We just got back from Vegas. Saw a show every night. Here's what we saw and my take:
Mystere - great show; the teenagers will love it.
LaCage - got these tickets at the 1/2 price tickets booth. Probably not for the teens. We enjoyed the show and it is maitre d seating so with a generous tip were able to sit front and center.
Rita Rudner - very funny, but probably best suited for husbands and wives.
There are tons and tons of great shows, so just keep checking and have fun!

I can't speak for that particular show, but in my experience, if you arrive early and are pleasent, they pretty much ask how close you wish to sit, without a tip.

There were 2 of us girls. We tipped $20 total. Probably could get the same seats for 4 for the same tip. That would only be $5 each. As we were coming in, they were showing you where to sit (one person holds all of the tickets). The person I was with just had the tickets and the $20 folded and said "Do you have anything, any closer?" And vavoom......right down front and I do mean center. There were still great seats being given with no tip, but what the heck.....it's Vegas and it's fun to be up front!!

I san Lance Burton 2 years ago and was extremely disappointed. Nowhere near the caliber of David Copperfield. Maybe he's gotten better over the two years but it was so bad I don't want to take the chance of seeing it again. Also, tHe theatre was only 3/4 full
