In Las Vegas: The Producers or KA - by Cirque du Soleil

Which show would you choose in Las Vegas? The Producers or KA. We've seen Mystere and liked it a lot, but after one Cirque du Soleil show, would we want to see another one? Thanks for your suggestions.

The other show we are looknig at is Gordie Brown at the Venetian. Has anyone seen this show? What is your opinion of Gordie Brown.

I've seen Gordie but when he performed at the Golden Nugget - he is funny and did a good show.

You might also consider Love the Cirque show at the Mirage. It's terrific (and I do not like Cirque shows). It helps to be a Beatles fan, or at least like their music.

Ka is not one of the better Cirque shows. It's better than Zumanity but worse than all the other ones in Vegas.

These are my favorites Cirque shows in order:

Mystere
LOVE
"O"
Ka!

I am going to Vegas soon and we have decided to see The Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian based on good reviews. The Producers is probably fun too, but I'm not a big fan of David Hasselhoff, so we're going to skip it.

If you are a Beatles fan, I would see LOVE. I thought it was great.

Personally I'd see Spamalot, it opens next month at the Wynn.

Saw Spamalot on Broadway and it is awesome. Unfortunately, we will be in Vegas before Spamalot starts in March.

KA was our 4th Cirque show...we absolutely loved the first 3: Alegria, O, and Mystere, but thought KA was a crashing bore. When the bartender told us that it would be a good time for a restroom visit when "the baton twirler" came out, I should've known what to expect.

Actually, I really enjoyed KA last year. Different strokes for different folks, to be sure. In fact, I liked it better than either road Cirque I've seen (think the ones in theaters are so much better that I doubt I'll go to a traveling show again) and better than La Nouba. Mystere was my first (in a theater) and I think maybe part of the reason it's my favorite was because it WAS the first in that kind of setting. Can't consider O in that group, it was so different (and we had such bad seats), but I loved it also. I'd probably rank them Mystere, O, then KA. Haven't seen Zumanity - keep looking at the clips online year after year and getting the feeling that the sensuality/shock value might be overshadowing the basic performance; I just get the feeling I'd be disappointed.

Haven't seen Love but am planning to go the end of April. And along those lines, I figure I would also like Le Reve. Does anyone have any comments on that one?

Last poster is correct. We got an awesome deal on TravelZoo for KA tickets, half price. Fodors and Frommers highly recommend the show. TripAdvisor reviews are mixed.
I'll let you know my take on KA when we return the end of February.

We saw Zumanity, certainly an acquired taste, and very risque.
But we enjoyed it.

I thought KA was great (and I paid full price both times). I have enjoyed all of the Cirque shows for different reasons. If you search the archives you can probably find my reviews of a few of them.
Given your 3 choices you gave, I would choose KA. I'm not a fan of impressionists (the draw of Danny Gans truly baffles me) and you can see The Producers elsewhere.

..and to add to that, Cirque is more of a "Vegas" show. You know, extravagant, outrageous, over the top. The Producers is a fabulous show. I saw it in NY when it first came out (and you would laugh at the lengths I took to get tickets) and I really enjoyed that but it's more of a "broadway" show not a "Vegas" show.

That's just opinion, of course!

Thank you, Westie! I have used Travelzoo once for air tickets and a couple of other times hoping for a flight deal but obviously hadn't fully explored the site. I will now. May get lucky for something I want to see in April.
